Waterfrogs Pelophylax

Description

In the genus of water frogs (Pelophylax) is included about twenty species. In Finland, three species have been observed: the edible frog, also known as common water frog, (P. esculentus), the pool frog (P. lessonae), and the Eurasian marsh frog, commonly known as lake frog (P. ridibundus). Water frogs often have long limbs and the coloration varies between green and brown. In addition, their eyes are quite high on the top of the head.
