Glyceria maxima

Description

Reed sweetgrass is a 1–2.5 m tall perennial grass that forms extensive, bright green and often semi-floating growths on shores. Its culms are sturdy and its leaves are 5–15 mm wide and shiny below. The inflorescence is a wide, stiff and scabridulous panicle. The colour of the spikelets varies from yellowish brown to yellowish green.
