Spiraea alba

Description

White meadowsweet is a shrub in the group Spiraea salicifolia, which are popular garden plants around the world. White meadowsweet is especially used in hedges and groups due to its vigorous growth. The species is unpretentious to the site and thrives both in the sun and in partial shade. It grows most lush in nutrient-rich and moist soil. It also tolerates flooding and thus thrives e.g. in flooded meadows and riversides. The species reproduces vegetatively and can spread to new sites along with garden waste or water.
