Garden lupin Lupinus polyphyllus

Description

Garden lupin, or large-leaved lupine, is a perennial leguminous plant that grows about 1 to 1.5 metres tall. Like other leguminous plants (Fabaceae), it uses symbiotic bacteria in its root nodules to bind nitrogen from the air, which enables it to grow in very low-nutrient land.
